Donut Falls

Lucky number seven (I hope!). After seven years of marriage and one broken mirror I am hoping that we start finding some good luck. Not that everything has been bad, but starting off your marriage with a totaled car on the 405 in Los Angeles, and a husband with a broken arm isn't exactly the fairy tale wedding I had in mind.

So, John in his normally super frugal ways planned a surprise date for our Anniversary. First of all...he took the day off. When you have a husband that is a workaholic you learn to appreciate the fact that a day off equals so much a day, equals so much towards the mortgage, that equals so much taken away from groceries, fun, etc...that being said, it was great to know I was worth every penny!

We went up big cottonwood and hiked Donut Falls. It was beautiful. The hike is really easy, and there was a lot of snow still melting off the trail. It was just nice to visit and do something in the mountains!

Later we went out for Indian food downtown. We are completely hooked on the "Bombay House," but decided to try something different...The Star of India. It was pretty good. Oh-wait! I just remembered that we have tried the Star of India before. It was last Christmas when we stayed at the Little America (one of our family traditions). We got super hungry Christmas night and got take out super late. It's better to eat there and not do the take out!

After dinner John took me & Jaxon to the drive in. We haven't done that in FOREVER! We saw Kung Fu Panda. I noticed that there was a rather tall person parked in front of us, and was like..."that's Shawn Bradley! Let's go say hi!" John was a little embarrased at my enthusiasm, but we went over and talked to him anyway. He was really nice. Jaxon gave him high five, and it was funny to see Jaxon standing next to him. I think I barely came to his knee! I wish I had the camera!

Your anniversary sounds like it was a great time! I can't believe it's been seven years! And when you mention a broken mirror I remember that on your wedding day I had a full-length mirror in my car and it broke. I threw it away at your parent's house in the outside can (I told your Mom later and she said that was okay). Funny the things we remember. You guys are so cute and so is Jaxon!

So did you tell Shawn that you know where Castle Dale is and have actually been there several times? He would be impressed with that. We see him every now and then at his grandparent's house across the street when he comes down to help them brand cows.
