Leaving San Diego...
Another Z Goal accomplished!
Thanks to David A. Christensen's class... Principles of Inner Victory (Ricks 96...LOL), I am crossing off another Z goal! After a few very hard weeks John surprised us earlier by booking a Mexican Cruise. We traveled down the Baja Peninsula and up the Sea of Cortez. It was beautiful, and fun. Before my dad passed away he kept saying "I'm going on a cruise!" I felt very blessed to get away and enjoy the sea for a few weeks! My thoughts turned to dad occasionally, and the majesty of this beautiful world that has been created for us!

Dads Funeral
It was a wonderful day. Dad is at rest. What a wonderful person in my life, and in the life of many others. We will miss you dad! Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral. Thank you for the condolences, and your friendship. It is much appreciated. We love all of you very much, and are grateful for the everlasting plan of salvation.

Now was the time.
Dad passed away last night (May 9, 2008, 8pm) at home with his family beside him. His passing was a very personal spiritual experience for me. I held his hand as he took his last breath and was reassured that I would see him again. All of his children were there to assist him and help him to his last breath. Dad was able to tell us to take care of our mother, and was also able to see several of his brothers and sisters before passing. Last night was very peaceful. My dad has been a strength to me. He has helped me endure trials and gave me reassurance that all will be well even under very adverse circumstances. I loved my dad, and will miss him.Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Walker Mortuary in Provo. Please visit http://www.walkerfamilymortuary.com/ for a listing of the obituary. You can also check the Provo daily herald (http://www.harktheherald.com/) in the Sunday edition.
Lastly, President Thomas S. Monson said, "The darkness of death can ever be dispelled by the light of revealed truth. “I am the resurrection, and the life,” spoke the Master. “He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. May we resolve from this day forward to fill our hearts with love. May we go the extra mile to include in our lives any who are lonely or downhearted or who are suffering in any way. May we cheer up the sad and make someone feel glad. May we live so that when that final summons is heard, we may have no serious regrets, no unfinished business, but will be able to say with the Apostle Paul, 'I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.'"

Tag you're it!
1- My first kiss was in Jr. High School from Duff Holland (yes, it was Elder Hollands son). It was only on the cheek, but what a kiss to remember.
2- I have a pair of socks that are now 11 years old. I somehow wound up with them when I left college one summer. I think they belong to my roommate Lisa. I keep thinking that I will hold on to them and give them back to her one day. Sometimes when I am sick I slip them on and enjoy! I finally got a Christmas card from Lisa this year, so I might just mail em back!
3- I auditioned for Deal or no Deal. While standing in line I was approached by a producer who told me to send in a five minute tape of myself. He said that the producers wanted to view my tape. Not sure what this means, but going to give it a try. I hope I win the million dollars!
4- I DO NOT SHARE MILK! I can drink from the same soda cup as my hubby, my son (who on occasion gets runny nose, and other junk), but I will not share milk. It doesn't matter if it's in a jug, in a cup, from a milk chug, in the form of ice cream, yogurt, or any such. I just don't share. I think I have flash back moments from watching my older brother slurp down five tons of cereal and slobbering on his spoon.
5- I want to change my identity and be known as Daphnie Padoda. Only Mari, Mia, and maybe Jared will know what I am talking about. Jared... you gotta send me that song! LOL!
6- I love to go to the M&M store in Las Vegas! I love the part where you become an M&M. I of course would become a pink one!
7- My friend Emily made fudge for Jaxon and I during Christmas. Emily told Jaxon that Chocolate was a healthy vegetable and I let him believe it until Christmas was over. I am still trying to explain to him why "I lied."
